  yes i think we live in a civilization because we have a goverment and everyone must follow them.

  I think that we do live in a civilization. We live in a place where there is a central goverment, cities, and trade. Trade helps new people come to the town/cities in Massachusetts.It helps different cultures and religions spread because of food and life style.

  yes, we are living in a civilization because we definatly have a pretty big surplus of food, we also have a lot of people living in the united states. We also have a big number of cities in the U.S.

  Mr. C- Is the size of the population the presence of cities the only factors in what makes a civilization?

  Yes i think that we do live in a civilization. Some reasons for this are because we have a system of writing, government, an irrigation system, artisans, farmers, education.

  Mr. C- Good…can you expand on any of your ideas, such as for government and artisans.

  Yes we do because a civilization is a society and has a central govt. and that is how our country runs.

  they have to have a social class, and a form of writing, and artisans

  Yes, we live in a civilization. Because we have everything that makes a civilization a civilization.

   Mr. C- Just because you say so does not make it so!  You need to back up your statements with examples.  What is everything that makes a civilization?

  We live in a civilization becuase we have a goverment,jobs, and other things that make a civilization a civilization.

  I think that we live in a civilization(Massachusetts), because we have several towns or cities, social status, a central government controlled by official leaders, and several groups of artisans who specialize in different areas.

  We live in a civilization because we have documents, govt. and settled lives. Documents will create history of the passed(past). Govt. will make only few people in charge of the town or city. Settled lives will make (are a result of) surplus of farming. Artisans will have jobs so the city will grow. We have already gone through this so our Civilization has grow a lot.

  Yes, we do live in a civilization, we have laws and rules that we must follow, we have a government, religion, soical services (like libraries, health care ,and schools.) we also have social classes and artisans that make us a civilization.
