I agree with all of you, you al had great discriptive detail and explained your answers very well. I agree with all of you, we definetly live in a civilization.we have a central govt, run by official leaders and a society with a lot of cities. We also have workers that specilize in various jobs. This is pretty much what all of you said so I agree with all of you

Mr. C- Are there any specific points that people made that you particularily like? Be specific if possible in your feedback...Good Job

Yes, i think we live in a civilization because,we have people who specialize in all different types of jobs like artisans and blacksmiths except we have more advanced technology.

Mr. C- Can you be more detailed in examples...Artisan is a general term....what type of artisans do we have or specialized jobs. What other characteristics of civilization do we have?

I agree with Sophie's;
Making a connection to celebrities was very explain-ifi-torial..or whatever..it made a lot of sense, and helped explain social classes more. It makes sense to say that when explaining social classes, and also proves that we live in a civilization. You can really tell you put thought into this blog, and did well...yeah..oh and because of the length...that was very well-written.

Sophie, wow!!! I really love how you put detail and gave examples in your blog entery. I agree with all of the pionts you are trying to make and I think that the way you compared us to the present world was an exelent obbservation. I never really thought of it like that, but it makes me really think about how our would could be different if everyone were the same or even were a civilation.

Sophie, I agree with your comment. I think that we do have very different social classes that make people who they are. I also think that wthe fact that we have a great government really helps our society to become a civilization. The fact that we all have to have an education is also good point. I think that having an education definitly helps a civilization.

Mr. C- Good feedback!

Lindsay, I think your response was really thoughtful, and you can tell you spend some time on it. You stated what a civilization is, but then you went a step further and were very descriptive and gave examples.

Mr. C- Good feedback...can you restate specific examples breifly for clarification?

We also organize ourselfs into social classes and this is a part of civialation. We have people in upper class who have more money and are wealthier than others. Those others might be more poor and less wealthy. I agree with Lindsay. She said that we have people with certian jobs to do certain things. I think this is a good piont to make about a civilation because this is how we are a civilation. If we didnt have people doing their jobs, there wouldnt be as many luxeries and maybe even not all of our neccesities.

Mr. C- Good follow-up and feedback.

I think that we live in a civilazation, especially compared to the present world. We have a great government for the most part and are very advanced in many things. We are advanced in electronics such as computers and simple things like calculators that other countries do not necessarily possess. There are many jobs to be done in our country which helps more people with low levels of education work to feed their families and live. We definitely have social classes, the highest social class in America is probably "Celebrity." This title is usually just an opinion that many people share. Celebrities have many people that like them, even if they have no particular talent and are just good looking. This is not very good but there isn't much we can do about it. We have many forms of writing and farming which help our country develop. By discovering different ways to make farming easier and faster it becomes a job for less people, and th people who now do not have to farm can work on other jobs such as education. Here we have very good education, the government tries to make sure that every child gets a Kindergarten through High School education, they try and enforce this by having a school in every town that you don't have to pay for. We have very advanced technology and we live in a civilivation but that is just right now. In hundreds of years they will look back at us and couldn't imagine living like us, like we can't imagine living like the stone age people. By then computers will be thought of as primitive and amazing forms of government might come about, who knows? That is why I think that we are living in a civilization compared to the rest of the world and the past but probably not even close compared to years to the years to come.

Mr. C- You have a lot of great ideas...and incorporate many aspects historians use when considering whether or not a society is "civilized".

civilization: a society that has cities,a central govormentrun by offical leaders, and workers who specialize in various jobs.
Yes, I think we live in a civilization.This is because we have cities and govorment. we do live in a civilization.

Mr. C- Are there other ideas of civilization that you can see in our society? Can you provide examples of how our society is civilized?

I think that Izzy's comment had great detailed examples that prove her point.

To add to mine,
We organize ourselves into social classes in many different ways;
Wealth:
When people have huge houses, people think of them as some of the people in the "rich group" of people. If people live on the streets people usually think of them as poor.
Jobs:
People think of the president as rich simply because his job is being the president...he lives in a big house, has servants and gunmen...ect.

A lot of the social classes and steriotypes revolve...or end up revolved around $moolah$...or ...money...

Back in the Stone Age, people really didn't care about money, which shows how much our world has developed...good and bad.

Mr. C- Can you be more specific in your feedback to Belle....What did you like? You need to put your thoughts into paragraph form!
